Breeding, breeding, and more breeding! This month is all about pairing our newly matured Ghosts. We have several pairings underway and are hopeful that fresh ooths will be appearing very soon. In the meantime, we’re eagerly awaiting the first ooths from three already mated females, each representing a different species.

While we wait for the next wave of babies, we’re still hatching nymphs from our original Ghost pair and continuing to research and refine our care to give these little ones the best possible start.

Another exciting project we’re diving into is the creation of a Ghost mantis colony! While most mantis species aren’t communal, Phyllocrania paradoxa (Ghost mantids) are known to be semi-communal under the right conditions. We’re starting with a group of 10, L4 individuals from different ooths, so they’re already a bit more established and less fragile than younger nymphs. We’ll be closely observing and documenting their behavior within the communal enclosure, and we’ll be sharing regular updates for anyone interested in following along.
